Facebook Post Failed: “Confirm Your Identity Before You Can Publish as This Page”

If your Facebook post fails with the error:

“Confirm your identity before you can publish as this Page”

this means that Meta has temporarily restricted publishing on the account until identity verification is completed.

Why This Error Happens

This is a security measure from Facebook designed to protect users and prevent suspicious activity.

Meta has increased these protections, which may trigger identity checks if:

  • There is unusual activity on the account
  • You’re posting from a new device or location
  • Multiple users are managing the Page
  • High-volume posting activity is detected

How to Fix It

To resolve this error, the Page admin must complete identity verification through Facebook.

Go directly to the verification page:
https://facebook.com/idhelpref=related_articles

Or follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Facebook account
  2. Click your profile icon (top right)
  3. Select Settings & Privacy → Settings
  4. Open Accounts Center (top left)
  5. Click Your Information and Permissions
  6. Select Identity Confirmation

What to Expect During Verification

  • Facebook will ask for a photo ID
  • Verification may take a few hours to a couple of days
  • You must be an admin of the Facebook Page to complete this

Important Notes

  • This restriction comes directly from Facebook, not us.
  • Posting will remain blocked until verification is complete
  • Only the user prompted by Facebook can complete this step
