How do I Relink my Social Media Accounts?

If a social media account gets disconnected or credentials just expired, you will need to relink that account to continue posting through your Social Media Manager.

Occasionally, a profile connected to our Social Media Manager Program becomes disconnected and requires reauthorization. This is a common practice put in place by social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc. ) to ensure that only approved and secured systems have access to post and manager your social media connections.

Being that social media is such a powerful tool, social media providers require a system like ours to regain access on a regular cadence as a way to prove and verify that you trust and want the Voyager platform to remain connected to your pages. Other than security, there are a few other reasons a page might become disconnected:

  • The password for the page or the admin was changed
  • The admin who connected the profile lost admin access
  • The admin who connected the profile has been removed

While all social networks operate a little differently, on average you should plan to reconnect your pages at the following cadence (note that these are averages and the social networks reserve the right to do this at any time)

  • Facebook: Every 60-90 days (can be as soon as 30 days)
  • Instagram: Every 60-90 days (can be as soon as 30 days)
  • LinkedIn Business Profiles: Once per year
  • LinkedIn Personal: Every 60-90 days
  • Google Business Profile: Every 90 days
  • TikTok: Every 60-90 days
  • Twitter/ X: No specific cadence
  • YouTube: 60-90 days

We recommend reconnecting the accounts as soon as possible to avoid any disruption in your social posts. You can also check the status of your platforms and when they need to be reconnected at any time in the system directly.

If you have your notifications turned on, you should receive an email when your social media credentials are about to expire. Visit the Alerts and Notifications article to review how to toggle these notifications on.

Your dashboard will also notify you when a social media account needs to be reconnected.

Clicking on the notification will bring you to your list of linked accounts. Hover over one of your accounts with a red exclamation point !, and a pop-up message will indicate that you need to relink the account.

Follow the steps below to learn how to relink your social media accounts to your Social Media Manager. There are two ways in which you can relink/refresh the account.

A- Directly from the Linked Accounts page

  1. Look for the social media channel that has the red exclamation point.
  2. On the right side of it there will be a "Refresh Credentials" option. Click on it and do the steps as if you were adding it for the first time. Once you are done if you don't see that the exclamation point changes to green, refresh the screen and check again.

B- Relink Using the Agency View
